More experimenting! I used oil paint brushes in clip studio paint for the wood texture and background, but cell shaded the foreground. Tried a few lighting effects as well^^

I pretty much painted background to foreground, I left these little mushroom guys for last as it would have been a pain to have them early on and have to paint around them.

My take on "Arcane Lineage" as a sample card assignment in Smartschool class... almost four years ago?! Time has flown! Anyway, I think it was rather fun, although I still rather like the background art without all the foreground stuff. ;-)

Made some good progress on this today, Cleaned up the character as well as adding some more layering elements to the foreground to add some depth. Really liking how it's coming together and I thing I'm ready for the final stretch of rendering.
