Some of my favorite ones are when the coyote somehow briefly reverts to a more feral looking creature like these first two. I think I also lifted a lot of Coyote in my own personal work, especially with eye shapes and playing with the pupils.

Also it's really cool how both characters visually transform through the film. Sophie's hair goes from dark brown to "the color of starlight" which suits her even better. While Howl reverts back to his natural black hair. Sophie grows. Howl gets his heart back.

Fun Fact : Inverse Hawitima was once just normal and sweet. Until the curse from a mysterious figure shot her mid stance. In this curse she reverts from her original color palette. Resulting in a backwards color wheel. Also her attitude changed too.
