I am beginning to think of Beatrix Potter the Mrs. Lovett of children's picture books. Meat pies appear in several of her stories. This illustration of Mrs. McGregor serving Peter's father to the family was eventually removed from "Peter Rabbit."

I had a go at replicating some Beatrix Potter artwork. (I over did the brightness when editing the photo, I didn't get the blue that wrong).

I’ll soon be researching the enchanting world of the polymath, Beatrix Potter (1866-1943). As we dip our toe into Sat., I thought I’d share with you some beautiful works she did of cats & kittens. She always loved her feline friends. ☺️💕
