In the manga, Gear Second simply shows Luffy emitting a large quantity of steam. There is no change of skin colour or highlights. I for one always quite liked the stylistic approach of the anime, as it showed his body literally heating up and turning his rubber skin smooth.

I could have sworn there are some BL VNs on steam. I thought the only real exception to Valve's "We don't give a fuck" policy is no underage characters, which is probably why Maidens of Michael wasn't put back on the store.
