all official art of him i guess hes not like WAYYY darker but its still very noticeable from his splash art. in the chibi art i think they use the manga color palette

so, my plan here, which i think really worked, is, as ur reading it, it's like you're going down further and further, off into the darkness, and it just goes down... down.. down... getting darker, until the harrowing of hell - which obviously fits thematically, + just feels cool:
