Struggling to learn soft shading. Here’s an attempt

Hey everyone, I'm opening commissions! I'm only doing half-body pieces.

$40 for a flat lined piece +$5 for simple shading and +$10 for complex shading.

@bennessb I make mediocre art, mostly for my husbands' D&D campaign and for discord emotes. As I have time, I'd happily take requests. Mostly do art in this coloring book style, occasionally I add shading. I know the D&D group enjoys the character art.

So I normally Hate shading. But clip studio makes it easy

@kassiopeeia I do pixel art with a simple cartoony style. I like bright colors and bold shading.
The character on the left is my "OC" who mostly takes inspiration from Disgaea's cleric.
I don't draw often. Depression makes it very hard for me to do anything these days.

And now for some closeups. I was debating between hard cel shading or soft shading. Soft shading definitely gave it that nostalgic Kirby look! I was experimenting with having Coo bring the picnic blanket, but ultimately went with bread. A lot of bread!

I've stayed up until morning last night doing the line art, coloring, and shading. I was pretty tired, but I love how it came out.

Digging through old files. It's interesting to see how my art style evolved over the years. I used to have much more limitations, mostly greys and forced a 32x32 canvas. Now I use more browns and introduced more shading. I also started working on 48x48.
