Actually birds and crocodiles have different voice box structures in different places
What birds have is a syrinx and is deep in the chest where the lungs split
Crocodiles have a larynx near the front of the windpipe
There is ongoing paleontological debate related to this

On January 11th I became a father and on December 11th I found out my mother’s cancer had spread to her lungs and bones. In between that there was Covid-19 & the never ending quarantine! Times have been incredibly tough in 2020 but my year in film has been my favourite year yet!
