Not really changed. I think it is just the lighting and shading skill that improved. Also the usual resolutions are scaled up along with the dpi.

I already worked in isolation alone for 3 years.

i’m using topaz lab’s proprietary software ai gigapixel to do the bulk of the upscaling, which has a super-easy-to-use command-line interface. it was trained on another dataset of pictures at various resolutions. it only sees patterns too

I'm forever amazed by whatever technique Capcom and Konami used to create their character models in the PS2 era. They managed to make them look very detailed but kept them within the polygon count, pretty low res texture resolutions and probs drew all shadows directly onto them.
