Line weight is choosing which lines are thicker/darker or thinner/lighter! It helps accentuate particular areas of the picture and keeps it from looking flat. example: alot of ppl like to use thicker lines for the silhouette of a body so the shape isn't lost in the other details!

Update on my Mic Cosplay: we've made a new shoulder pads, thinner, bigger and more flexible. I'm sure I could have done a better job sanding the putty I used on it but it was my first time doing this and was a bit insecure. The spikes can be aligned better
