I wouldn't blame IDW's Shadow on Evan and Ian, remember how much better he was handled in the archie run? Ian has gone on record saying that Sega wanted Shadow writen a certain way. we can only hope Frontiers reception helps convince Sega to return him to what he used to be.

at one point Hasbro wanted IDW to switch to exclusively doing comics set in the Aligned continuity, proposing a "New 52" -style reboot event.

this didn't happen when IDW staff argued that they had laid too much groundwork for their upcoming stories to change their plans.

Anyway in Sonic the Fighters, made by the same people, there's a hidden fursona Sonic version of her within the game's code, called Honey the Cat. She got officially added to the game in later releases, and would show up in Archie Sonic (and then the IDW anniversary special).
