I can’t really help with that since everyone has different shading styles but if you use ibis paint x to draw, you can use the multiply option for dark shadows and the add option for highlights. It might help with shading

i use a multiply layer for shading and a screen or soft light layer for highlights/lighting. also, gradients and the airbrush tool are my best friends. also, yellow. i somehow manage to put yellow in almost all my art.
