You know, I always wonder why GameFreak changed Red's original design from Gen I into the FRLG remake in Gen III. And the more I think about the possible reasons, the more resentment I have for the FRLG design (and to a lesser extent, the SM adult design).

People imagine 'inspired' or 'similar' is the same as direct sequel, using the characters, etc, which is not the case. That is why we have not one but *2* traditionally published sci Fi novels last year that are basically Poe/Finn fanfic. Even the cover artwork is like that.
