Not gonna lie, I prefer Pikachu's Anime Design over his Official Design. I feel that the shape of his head in the Animated Adapation looks more appealing. The former is also used a lot more often than the latter, actually.

"appealing" in the meaning of "likble" not "fuckble". King from "the owl house" is pretty appealing for his animal/children traits. And nurses from pockemon more appealing because of thiers cute appearens. And they still looks older than children (eyes is smalle, face is longer)

I feel the same way, just add bad art direction. None of the characters are memorable, design wise, and at worst unappealing. For instance, I get that they were trying to give the main character heart-shaped hair, but the way it sits/moves looks so awkward.
