We have moved two of paintings, square (17 ' inc' frame, 10' internal) lots of detail yet soft and dreamlike as only watercolour can be. Very delicate brushstrokes, highly evocative in execution, these needed an "airing" downstairs to my mind.

Went to the exhibition today. Up close, her expressive brushstrokes feel like humanity in the raw.👌What a privilege to have this work in 👏👏

Anyone have advice on painting abstract backgrounds? Like when a character is feeling a strong emotion or in action and it's just brushstrokes, shapes, and colours. It always comes out generic and messy when I try

This week I spent a couple of days in Amsterdam. I did some sketches of Vincent van Gogh's self portraits. Being there reminded me of how much I loved learning about him in primary school and I got to see all those crazy brushstrokes up close!
