My holiday break has started.. Might be a good time to finish UVing and texturing this and trying out the retopo tools in 3D Coat. I intent to achieve basic proficiency in the full workflow as an adjunct to my concept skills, if only to make sure what I give modelers is ideal.

Some of the process! I was originally going to do handpainted textures in Blender, but I opted for using Substance Painter instead so I could familiarize myself with the workflow.
Animated one of my first enemies that isn't a slime. My workflow is slow but at least I'm satisfied with the quality lol.

There isn't enough geo to support the shapes and the design is undercooked but I think these tools could be a really nice part of my concept workflow, especially in regards to making 3D roughs for prototyping. RizomUV (among others) makes UVs pretty painless.
trying out my new screen tablet from @XPPEN & omg it's going to make a HUGE difference in my workflow. drawing feels so much more intuitive & quick, i can loosen up so much more! this was like a 5 min sketch!
