Indeed! Few will stand the test of time and in many cases we tend to enhance/improve what we thought they were like. Robotech, Space: 1999 are examples of this (for me). Very few will do well, Alien, Star Wars, Blade Runner, 2001: A Space Odyssey are exceptions, not the norm.

Kagura is one of the best heroines I've seen in like, any series, ever

She truly grows so much in the series, through her time in Kabukichou and elsewhere

Despite being a monstrously strong alien, she still feels more human and gets better characterization than most heroines

Erebus here is a very interesting individual. He's essentially an alien, but the important bits are that he's physically hot to the touch, he's plagued by vampiric roses, and he's very self centered.
