In all honesty, I think there should be MORE Pokémon with urban inspirations. Grafaiai’s design incorporating hoodie aesthetics into its fur coat along with its face bearing a slight resemblance to a breathing mask and goggles, it just all around looks like a punk teenager.

Found some old campaign art while digging for another file. With some obvious Stalker/Helcat inspirations, these guys were designed with the idea of merging sorcery (golem magic) with modern tech that, at the time, wasn't available to the continent (some degree of rambling ahead)

George Morikawa is probably one of the most underrated mangakas out there, the way he draws his fights and movements are just god-tier.

Hajime no Ippo will always be my favorite manga.

I wanna learn and figure out how he does things cuz this is one of my inspirations.

Apparently Hachishakusama was one of the inspirations behind Lady Dimitrescu in RE8, so, since Kroelian GARDEVOIR is based in Hachishakusama, I guess this was a fitting choice for its Mega evolution
