Kirby's face is able to move around pretty freely in his circular "body" area. If it was just a face then the face would probably be more centered in the middle instead of being towards the top of the circle with the rest of it acting as a "body"

In the modern era of costume designs, Jack of Hearts' is rather unique, at the very least...'explorative.'

Much of Kirby's character designs (for ex.) have incredible detail, so considering the complexity of such costumes to a hero like Mr. Fantastic (for ex.), JoH stands out.
