Felt inspired to revisit some old dragon OCs! Hoku (Blue) and Nikka (Black) were an interesting pair, I designed them to be dragons but extremely unconventional in their shapes.

We started from an initial pixelart conceptart and throughly laid out the feeling of the level, the style and the architectural shapes. From the initial conceptart a lot of refinements were done gradually.
Later We separated all into assets, detailled them and added more stuff.

I remember about 10 years ago, I could only draw one type body shape - thin. Of course other body types apparently exist so been practising drawing more larger/obese shapes. Nice simple design this, so not bad at all.

I have an OC now!

Figured that this would be a great side project to get better at digital art, as well as having something to animate with when I'm taking a break.

The design is based off of origami, with the weapon being able to fold into other shapes. I dont have a name yet

This is such a masterful blend of unique & interesting shapes. So evocative of different time periods and cultures, yet so cohesive! 90s Capcom was on another level. If I were art director on the new Dune movie I would have told them to study Gerelt for the House Atreides armor!

This pair of interacting galaxies looks remarkably like a rose.

The galaxies - captured by the Hubble Space Telescope - have merged and as they have done so, gravity has twisted and distorted their shapes.
