My process of an environment concept for the @melbournemuseum @museumsvictoria Horridus exhibit. Firstly a B&W compositional study. Then colour to explore mood and temperature. The final image is more detailed and the addition of a stream is to help lead the eye into the depth.

I love all the contrasting colours that depict the different settings, temperature, tone and motifs. From cool watery pastels and earthy reds (Atreides), sickly greens and blacks (Harkonnen) to opulent golds (The Emperor).

Being a species of hot climates, Kniit do not normally have the coat or body for freezing temperatures.
Thankfully there are genetic resequencing treatments allowing a kniit with a reasonable amount of cash to be floofier and all-around better suited for cold worlds.
