The mid 2000s was an odd era for Donkey Kong. Occasionally he would get multiple games during that time, but they would be odd for DK to be in.
This is an updated version of King K. Rool, completely removing his golden belly, and even debuted in a Mario Spin-off!

At around 2005, most of the on-going Donkey Kong games were under the company 'Paon DP', two of which being spiritual successors to Clu Clu Land.
During the first game, K. Rool was given a 2D version of the character and a little Egg-Mobile he flies around in.

Sometime during the mid 90's, Nintendo decided to create a 3D cartoon based around the Donkey Kong Country games.
Rather than his previous plans from the first games, his goal now is to steal the 'Crystal Coconut', and to have the most lovely singing voice.
