W recent conversations going on I wanted to say that lyses design is actually more faithful than most JRPG west Asian outfits. Ala Mhigans are based off the Mt. Ararat area where Circassian & Kurdish ethnic groups exist . With these few edits to her design it looks very similar
But if I'm honest: my first playgrounds with art style experimentation were Roleplay Groups in Deviantart :') (an assortment of OCs, many of my first tries at developing human protagonists).

The internet has really accelerated the use of custom glyphs/symbols/alphabets in small groups
