I guess one of my fav artists tatsuyuki tanaka is the closest thing i can think of with the gritty urban postapoc look, wacky costumes, robots, creatures etc. This kind of stuff is my fav

Doom Patrol Bonkers. Man who can’t grow beard parodies the popular gun-toting gritty vigilante characters of the time...but only murders bearded men. Reads like an allegory for repressed sexuality and there are more than a few hints to suggest that.

Believe me, everyone used to hate this show when it first aired due to it’s gritty ugly aesthetic and gross out but it got better later on and now everyone sees it as a gem.
