Fun fact: if you rewatch the first season, ep 7 and 15 idk if there is more cameo we saw Soyuz/no name like he was highlighted in the scene since in the manga there aren't. I found it strange since it was technically a foreshadowing since we knew that he will be important.

It had some foreshadowing, and it succeeds in doing what it needs to narratively without being forced or completely destroying Lelouch's character.
