Nah the Spec map is fine.
It's purely the color correction they did.

If you compare the old vs the new you can see that's it's basically the same thing, just different skin coloration.

They made the color darker and that's about it really.

tone curve correction worked suprisingly well to change the skin tone, ignoring the features of the girl

At this point it looks a bit muddy, I use color balance, selective color to even it all out.
Layers set to color, the only layer setting that doen't afffect the values.
