Day 28:
Gold-Ring Bristletooth Tang / Spotted Bristletooth
(Ctenochaetus truncatus)

Like other Bristletooths, they have rows of flexible bristle-like teeth used to scrape their food (detritus, diatoms, & algae) off of rocks & other surfaces.

Back to posts; getting back to uploading them all and decided that it doesn't matter when I post them just so long as I get them all posted. These were new folks to my annual event, so it's nice to see new faces.

Would she count? I mean she hasn't been out in the public yet, but we'll see in a few years. Sorry if I keep shoving her in ppls faces.

Interesting, too many families are involved and too many new faces.

We’ve been doing a LOT of work recently on faces

This will be the attribute with the most layers by far. Hundreds of layers for the faces.

Some expression study and a more detailed idea of their faces... I'll probably make more studies in sketch but I wanted to add some colours to these because I liked them the most.

I did this as a kind of scene study a few years ago. . . and added some familiar faces. I bet they would play in perfect harmony

it hurts so much to see sad faces. cry, but not from resentment.

Isolationists portraits also remind me of photos with scraped faces. Old photos where someone, for some reason, has erased a face from the picture. One can only guess the reason (hate, death, don’t steal my soul). Spooky.

These faces so cute! Always loved how Missy did the faces.

And most of these types of paintings are of course *extremely* sentimental because they are *about* sentiment, and how it is expressed variously and on different faces.

The stress has built up over the past two years. You can see it on people’s faces. Hang in there, and reach out when you need someone to talk to.
