Fun localization trivia:

This particular Dragon Quest monster had a few names. On NES, it was Silver Batboon, and modern games call it Silvapithecus.

But the Gameboy games had a 9 character limit, so they went with AgDevil. Because "Ag" means Silver on the periodic table.
