The bit in Parade's Lust where the singer let's out a smoker's cough and shouts "Call me anal retentive!" is one of the great moments in anime image song history.
@JayDougArt1 by definition, "stylized cloth" can mean a billion different things, but if you want good 2D art ref, Leyendecker's art is primo. But yeah, ref is good. I hope this helps you out Jay! It certainly isn't a GDC talk, but if it can serve as a stepping stone for you I'll be happy.

As classic as Jim Aparo's art is, I used to think that his Joker's unrealistic facial proportions stood out a bit like a sore thumb consider how normally he drew all his other human characters. After seeing the Bogdanoff Twins, I've stopped thinking that. 😅 https://t.co/asLt8vfg1o
Batman: He's tough. Any suggestions, Boss?
Bruce: Joker's vain and likes to talk. He'll try to distract you, but don't listen. Block it out and power on through.
Batman: Wait.. I like to talk too.
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
I truly cannot recommend Ed Brubaker's work on Catwoman and Gotham Central enough, two of my favorite Batman stories ever, even if Bats himself is only a supporting character on them.
Street-level, grounded look at Gotham without forgetting the fantastical, best of both worlds.
