I sometimes see scientists getting berated for correcting debunked theories. People might see us as being killjoys sometimes, but misinformation is a serious problem; the past 1.5 years have shown us all that.

I really dislike the whole “scientists meddling with that which they shouldn’t” trope in media. Irl every project we do needs to pass through multiple independent ethics boards because we’re not cartoon villains.
I believe this trope has real impact on peoples’ trust in science.
