i redrew a picture after ten years. the original is from august 2009. yes, for some people this side by side would be like, 2 years. i have to not let that make me feel down. i thought i would become an artist when i was 12, but i didn't go to art school. but i still draw.

So, I don't really have any character related art from 2009. I started drawing seriously in 2017.

2017: I knew nothing about construction or anatomy. I was referencing badly and stiffly. knew nothing about lighting or color theory either.

Other than feeling more confident with anatomy and detail, as well as using ink to make details pop, I don't feel like there is a massive shift from 2009. I need to get into digital art.

Oh apparently I did that meme wrong--you're supposed to redo an art from 2009. Well in that case here we go with this cowboy. Ivan Kromsky's carriage painting inspired this one 10 years ago, so I decided to try and pull it back to that OG color scheme.
