You mean you have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy!

I actually like playing this one. Pinball is just really fun in general. I wish they weren't so expensive.

The first game of 1984.

Does anybody else thing that tennis games are just an excuse to re-release Pong over and over again?

9: Jr. Math

The last Famicom game of 1983. Given these first 9 games, I think this console wasn't such a great deal on the first year. 2 board games, 4 arcade ports, 2 educational games, and baseball. I dunno, you decide.

Oh boy. Only 8 in and we already have our first sport game. I don't mind baseball as much, though. I've seen Japanese baseball games, it looks like a fun thing to go to. Also, despite my diet, I still really like hot dogs.

I guess they repurposed the arcade game to teach English. Out of all the characters to use, did they have to choose Sometimes even I can't understand what he's saying. I didn't draw him because I already drew him once for this.

6: Mario Bros

I'm not a fan of doing multiple drawings of the same character while making this, so I have to carefully select which character represents which game. Without spoiling future drawings, just know this was the best choice for

Inspired by the Triton/Salamander mecha from XARDION (SNES/Super Famicom 1992). The game was so-so, but artists Moriki Yasuhiro and Hajime Katoki did some awesome work on it!

5: Mahjong

Heads up: Just looking for the word "Mahjong" in a list of Famicom games gives 17 results. The word Mario gives 9 results. Mahjong makes up more than 1% of all licensed Famicom games...why?

4: Gomoku Narabe Renju

If there's any warning I need to make, prepare for a massive amount of board games on the Famicom.

Here's what I'm gonna do for a while. I'm gonna draw every single game released on the and the Disk System. After these first three, I'll just tweet the next finished game one at a time.

And here's a lowish-res wallpaper from ZOOM itself, featuring the mech Tracer and its pal Betty.

Both Genocide games did well enough to get console ports, first for the PC Engine and then for Super Famicom. What vexes me is how ZOOM brought Phalanx to the WiiWare, but not these!
