greyscale + a one color overlay is such a fun way to color stuff why didnt i try this sooner
If we get to 75 or 100 by Feb 2nd, I will draw a third winner, who will get a headshot like one of these!
Winner will get to choose what style of the three they prefer, ofc.
First is full lined, shaded, colored. Second is colored greyscale sketch, third is soft version ot first! https://t.co/RmNVPD2y5p
Just realized I actually never posted on here the latest studie I did so here it is✨it was my first time painting in greyscale too
the saturation slider is an indiscriminate beast with no regard for the inherent brightness differences between colors, eg fully-saturated yellows and blues are different brightnesses. if you put a filled black Color layer over your image it'll show you the "true" greyscale.
eg:
@thewickedavatar yeah im thinking even though the color/gold one seems to be the favored one here since im thinking of doing monochromatic character sprites like this that maybe going greyscale with the scenery might be better?? idk
heres the greyscale, and initial sketch/blockout https://t.co/JZ896XC99h
Coba-coba pakai greyscale. Ini film favorit aku sejak SD, sering nonton ulang kalau dulu nontonnya di globaltipi 😂

2017-2018-2018-2019
I can't chose between those two 2018 drawings as they both mean different important things to me and were new experiments (one working in greyscale and the other new painting bg style)
26 - Blanque - He/Him
// blood
From a race that is completely greyscale, Blanque began to resent those from the rainbow species (See Synthia and Keshi above), eventually resorting to killing them and using their colourful blood in his art which was mocked for its lack of colour
@ManiacXVII with greyscale, you can color directly over it using the multiply layer mode. I coloured this in doing that.

Greyscale WIP for first fruit of day

"Blergh"
quick sketch request i did. tried greyscale for some reason
#shortstack #goblin
@P_Protocoll 4- using an desaturated blue, on a multiply layer i do the shading of the shadows and depth of clothes at best
4.5- and another one for the highlgihts as a overlay layer
5- from there i just delete the solid color layer and disable the greyscale gradient
and bam!
@P_Protocoll its kinda of a 50/50 sometimes, even tho im changing it a bit
recently i been using a bit of an tricky method but that i feel like it works better for my workflow
1-flat colors
2-make an new layer of an dark-ish color
3-make an greyscale gradiant to know the values more
Another lil something of Cyrus, I actually really enjoy doing these greyscale drawing and have added them to my comms list now.
