Still makes me laugh hard after all this time. There’s a narration in this arc not present in the anime. It talks about how leaders change the colors(behaviors) of their group. The color metaphor becomes the punchline in the end.
So the joke with the DB creature is that it takes this metaphorical name literally, depicting it as a phoenix-like legendary bird that lives in a volcano and eats fire. Coincidentally or not, there’s a DQ monster based on the same idea (localized as “Firebird” or “Phoenix”)
