This is a state machine.

State C has a powerful move, "S. ATK" available but you always start in State A. Attacking moves you up one state, blocking resets you to State A, and EMP(ower) gives you some buff while maintaining your current state.

i used a totally different process than normal for this one, skipped my normal lineart stage and did silhouette blocking instead, based on how i've seen work up his sprites. came together super fast and i'll definitely be taking this approach again in the future! ☺️
