John Lavery died at Rossenarra House, Co. Kilkenny in 1941. A native of Belfast, he is remembered as one of 'The Glasgow Boys' and for his iconic portraits, including The Red Rose (1923) and The Widow (1921) currently on display in our Gibson Galleries (Floor 1).
