I wanted to play up the geometry of the Thing like Tetris or LEGOS. I also thought of his trenchcoat. My 1st attempt worked but it wasn’t what I’d envisioned. I tried the trenchcoat. Third time’s the charm: Low eyeline/Deep shadows.

Even tho the colors are not very different from the original my intention was to focus on light and shadows.

Same

Lighting plays a big part in taking of
Problems:
Up lighters in rooms cause shadows
Getting too near work with the camera causes shadows.
Artificial light v natural daylight can both be problematic.

5) setting tones! i don't do this every time i set a composition, but i knew this piece was going to have very particular light and shadows. the figure in the middle has the brightest light and sharpest shadows, while everyone else had dark and diffused light

If Geno ever DOES get into Super Smash Bros, I really hope they keep his weird proportions and dark shadows. I want him to feel like he stepped right out of 1996.

Eyesmon profile:

A Digimon capable of concealing itself in shadows. The more data it accumulates, the stronger it becomes, and its power surpasses even that of Perfects depending on how much it has stored. It possesses many eyes, and does not miss any of the enemy's movements...
