...to its Rider's rescue. After returning Dani to the mansion and care of Sharon, Tom Corsi takes note of the paint on Brightwinds' hooves, meaning there's wreckage to trace.

The driving motive of Erik's villainy was his need to protect mutant children and Dani's attack calls...

...have managed to squeeze themselves out of even more impossible conflicts–but their tutelage under Erik won't be half as merciful as their luck has been toward them.

Erik quickly dismantles their joint attack, proving himself not only their better, but illustrating the gaps...

Earlier, Erik mused over Charles' dream as he read of...

Erik manages to make it to the surface with Charles in tow, landing them in a garden–important symbolically as a place of restoration, healing, and personal growth–where a dying Charles begs Erik to take up his dream.

The intimate moment shows...

...the floor beneath him and the judges.

The personal nature of the revenge scheme starts to come into view for the trapped mutants as they announce their combined hatred of Erik, Charles, and Gaby.

Erik still has trouble putting a name to the faces but prepares to sacrifice...
