The second one is an older picture, so most improvement comes from a year of improvement, but the video did help a lot too- Color and silhouettes most notably.
Working with a brighter palette should help my comic lots in the long run, and hey, you can tell my characters apart!

Well this turned out better than I thought it would! Super happy with how far I've come with art in what seems like such a short time. Still massive room for improvement, but its exciting to think of where I'll go from here!
