He set out to create a body of historical work & created strange & cold works as he attempted to interpret the Ancient Greek form of painting. Virgil (1812-4) is almost marble like, Ossian (1813) is bleached & Don Pedro (1814) is doll-like.

An archives that is often overlooked is the Archives for the Province of Ontario.

A number of years ago we had the opportunity for a private visit and they had pulled a number of significant War of 1812 related items from their collection.

It blew us away!
