I was influenced by marbleized paper when I worked at a textile arts school in Berkeley, CA in the '80s. ["From the Disappearing World" 1987 CE]: @ArtistRTweeters #art #artist #artwork #painting https://t.co/DcoPxY4QWm

@KurtBelcher We had a "Capitán Hispania", a mockup of Captain America that appeared in Superlópez comics back in the 70s or 80s.
I’m not sure who this is, but I feel like I might have known her way back when … in the ‘80s. (Experimenting with a portrait style I’ve never tried. No “lines” per se … just long strokes.)

3 fictional guns in @TheRogueNorth. A 9mm Russian SMG-3 developed in the early 80s. Canadian C9 standard arctic warfare rifle. And the VSG, a delayed-blowback 10mm SMG derived from the popular AS VAL.

✨I swear me and a bunch of my cousins tried to sing and dance like Michael Jackson when we were kids in the 80s. So many "hee hees" and "shamones" while moonwalking in socks. Also played a lot of Moonwalker on Sega Genesis✨
@dlberes It's a sequel to JESUS, a graphic adventure game released by Enix in the 80s. It's a sci-fi story that takes place on a space station named J.E.S.U.S., not to be confused with the manga JESUS (ジーザス) written by Kyoichi Nanatsuki and drawn by Yoshihide Fujiwara in the 90s.
Jean-Baptiste Greuze, Paris, (1725–1805)
Head of a young woman, c.1780s.
Her expression of, possibly sorrowful longing—typical of têtes d’expression- used in an artist's academic training.

Stumbled on this announcement over at the
@ItsTerrifiCon website!
Definitely going to be thrilled to meet @rickhoberg, artist on a couple of my favorite issues/series from the late 80s.
@PaulKupperberg @Mitch_Hallock
Video Game magazines of the early #1980s.
Still a lot of fun to read today; the excitement of a new form of entertainment came across so well in these old publications.

On the latest @retrowdw they mention Texposition, another abandoned location-based entertainment project from the 80s. It was developed by WDI and James Rouse's Enterprise Development Company. Think of it as a mega-sized Pleasure Island - it even had Mannequins & Adventurers Club
The Batsquatch is a flying cryptid that was allegedly seen near Mount St. Helens in the 1980s. It resembles a flying primate, similar to the Ahool and the Orang Bati of Southeast Asia, and its name is a portmanteau derived from the words "bat" and "Sasquatch."
#1 - My oldest OC is probably Korros. He was the first hero I created using the Marvel Super Heroes basic system back in the 80s. He basically transforms into a gargoyle with corrosive touch.

Hello, my name is Mordy, I'm a freelance furry artist with love of the 80s. I absolutely adore sparkle dogs and crazy fashion choices. 🥰🥰🥰
Have some concept art from The Little Mermaid by Kay Nielsen. This was done way back in the early 1940s when Walt Disney considered making the film before it was shelved until the 80s. Nielsen's art was used as reference on the classic 1989 film, long after his death in 1957.
Starting with a reproduction of the original 1971 theatrical program. I’m not sure that many younger film fans remember film programs/books. These were always available to purchase before a film as a souvenir, common in the UK until the early 1980s.
They’re still used in Japan.
The make-up and costumes of Blade Runner, whilst attempting to be futuristic, are very 1980s. However, the film creates a look of its own and manages to combine film noir with science fiction. It’s a great book and a great film #ClassicMovies
