These are all compositions where I used the spiral to guide my sketch, and I say "guide" because as you can see, I'm not following it literally, but where I could I would have directional lines either roughly or literally follow the spiral shape to lead towards my focus.

Not sure if this is helpful but I just like to play around with greyscale and multiple compositions before I start rendering

Think about what you want to reflect in the character through a still image alone - it helps you establish what mood/pose you are going for! :D

Here, the older version. I said before I do love centralized, still compositions, but I work better with assimetrical, dynamic ones. Again, pursuing a style is less about drawing the way you want, and more drawing the way you feel better and have more fun in the process.

I’m a big fan of the similarity in these two compositions. It really drives the point that her change has caused her to regress as a character, which makes the whole thing sadder knowing her character’s arc so far.
