Maybe it's cause I had never heard of it so I couldn't anticipate it, but based on my initial feeling "The Scarlet Return" might be my favourite arc in #DetectiveConan. More than satisfying resolutions, twists and exciting set ups, and made me genuinely care about a new character

I think Conan was featured in the most Marvel Graphic Novels. His stories just look amazing in oversized pages. And I never knew the Moench/Gulacy team did Conan. I gotta get me some of that.

I’ll admit that I don’t really like simple, “cartoony” art in Conan. John Buscema didn’t have the hyper-detailed style of Barry Smith, yet Big John managed to fill every panel with life, richness, and texture that made Conan’s world seem real to me, something few ever achieve.
Whose comic is this again? The cover says that it’s Conan’s. But once again we see the unfortunate tendency to render Conan to the role of “muscle” while someone else takes the lead. “Come along, Conan. Do as I say, Conan. Good boy, Conan. Don’t think, Conan.” Good art though.
