Perhpas you've never thought of India in connection with slavery. Brigid Allen has written about it here: https://t.co/5FOqd0bVq6 The 2 maps show how much territory the East India Company had annexed by 1856; the woman in the photo (Wellcome Collection) is harvesting sugar cane.
Our annual series of events for Slavery Remembrance Day starts today!
We have @Movema dance workshops, creative writing with @Skywriters_ , crafting with @TWR__org and more - all hosted by our neighbours @MuseumLiverpool🌟

We live on Ashton Street, named for John Ashton, a Liverpool merchant who traded in salt and coal.
He also invested in and profited from the slave trade.
Ahead of #SlaveryRemembranceDay, his daughter Anna's portrait features in #TheWorldReimagined

✨ Cosmic Lady Liquorice 🍭
Her name was Lyris before she was kidnapped by space pirates and sold into slavery to a space brothel.
There she was given the nickname Liquorice.
She rose from the bottom and seized power for revenge 🔥
My entry for @SEArtCollective, #BITSHADOWS
Nastaran is a warrior with The Desert Flowers - an all women group freeing people from slavery. Motivated by her anger and impulsivity, she meets Layla in unfortunate circumstances. Nastaran doesn't realize the burden of revenge comes with a hefty price.
Francesco Zuccarelli (15 August 1702 – 30 December 1788) was an Italian artist.joseph-sold into slavery to the ishmaelites
The Red Rose, 1923, by John Lavery
Portrait of Hazel Lavery. Began in 1892 as a portrait of Mary Burrell
Civil War - The #USConstitution is great but imperfect. It was signed by 39 who included slavery but not equal rights, women, etc. It led to the US Civil War. Using #originalintent from 1787 is like running a business, war, etc. w/ 235-year-old marching orders. #FederalistSociety
@Trinalalalaart Thank you for this share!
Here is my OC. Tsaeronis is scarred, quiet, secretive, more evil than good, but hates slavery and piracy (and almost all of his kind). Loves the Lady Niar and revenge stories 😈❤️🔥
An hate anthem (tribute to #humanity). Old #digitalart sketch. Lyrics by Linea77 band. #slavery
I really hope to love Sugar Apple Fairy Tale when it comes out, but there's a part of me that can't help but already squirm since he's her slave. The ramifications of slavery historically speaking is devastating, so to see it in this whimsical fairytale setting feels off
Both NFTs and Physical are pointless because you can just grab the data. And the only valid reason to collect them is to support the creators. Overall, with all the DRM, localization and censorship BS going on, PIRACY IS KING, EMULATION RULES, and streaming is slavery. LMAO
John Lavery (20 March 1856 – 10 January 1941) was a Northern Irish painter best known for his portraits and wartime depictions.
There is happiness in slavery, for a yeen who loves to give my all for the roommates whom I adore and worship, down to happily doing every chore so they don’t have to, and obeying and submitting to their every whim. ^\\\^
