More #darthvader concept art. You can really see the design progressing, painstakingly, with each and every drawing. I believe the black and white piece is the great Ralph McQuarrie. Possibly the color, too. #starwars #conceptart
El Concept art desechado de Ralph McQuarrie para THE EMPIRES STRIKES BACK (1978), frente al concept art para el capítulo 10 de THE MANDALORIAN (2020).
@pascalblanche I always loved this design. I imagined much more serene than in the Mandalorian, but thought that ep was a ton of fun. This might be a stretch, but I felt like the vent baths were reminiscence of this McQuarrie piece.
Loved to finally see those giant Knobby white spiders in action since it has always been one of my favorite creature design by mighty McQuarrie
packaging art by Ralph McQuarrie. the rancor painting was never finished and was the last SW art he ever worked on
It's always good to see more McQuarrie art in Star Wars, but I am disappointed that they seem to have tossed a very original #specevo idea from Legends: that at maturation the spider roots itself in place and slowly becomes a mangrove-like tree (the large ones in the background)
