Wouldn't it be fun if some leftover Inklings and Octolings got mutated from the fuzzy ooze into mammalian hybrids and start to cause mayhem? I see lots of fun design possibilities.

i love fryes forehead! but i do think its part of what i talk about in my other tweets about how they feel more like splatbands than idols

a lot of the inklings and octolings in splatbands have exaggerated features, such as foreheads or expressions

Regardless if these are canon heights or not I consider all inklings and octolings to be about the height of Sonic Characters. This is mainly because my inkling OC is supposed to be 5'4" or however tall Mythra is from Xenoblade 2, but her anatomy is more human-like.

I think Nintendo should give a chance to the Rival Octolings (or so-called Octarians) to be free and live with the Inklings/Octolings. They might allow it with a new DLC. They definitely need a chance.

Garne is a super model, who can do telekinesis. Fae has tentacles for a hair (much like octolings), and is very tall. She doesn't really talk, and lives with Elyse (will talk abt her next).

one nice lil detail about Shiver's design that ppl likely haven't fully noticed is that she lacks that distinctive "eyelash" marking that octolings have, and I think that's neat

I looked at some of the other Octolings in case that was just an Octoling thing, but they all have round pupils. As far as I know, it's the same for Inklings, too. Here's an example below!
The one above's wearing a hat, so it's probably not a gear option like the Fake Contacts.
