Ep.16 is one of my favorites!
I love the screenplay of this episode and the camera work on the scenes just like only Morishita could do; it's a pity (for me) that Araki & Himeno were afterwards mostly teamed with Yamauchi and never got scenes like these again...

From the Captain Smalls
"Robert places his hands on the spokes of the ship's wheel. This is the most empowering moment of his life.”

From
"My main goal with Smalls is to establish empowerment. I depicted Robert in a solemn state."

OHMSS is a tough watch, at an ambitious 2hrs 20 min, screenplay-wise it feels like the bleakest of the Bond films until we reach the Craig era. Apparently George Lazenby had a frosty relationship with the director which didn’t add any warmth to a screenplay that’s a touch too icy

When I think of the late Keiko Nobumoto’s writing, I think of her incredible gift for memorable imagery, she had a brilliant mind and really it was her screenplays that made some of the shows that elevated the storytelling of the medium as a whole. I hope I can be 1/178th as good

The framing of the poster was inspired by Francis Bacon's Crucifixion 1933, a painting that I've referenced frequently in my art over the years. It acts as a recurring theme in the concept art that was made to accompany a Frankenstein screenplay I've been working on since 2015.

December 1, 1995: Star Wars: The Phantom Menace: A Medusa senator by Iain McCaig: “There was no screenplay; it was given to us verbally. The joke was always, if you couldn’t figure out a place for [your concept], it was a Senator on Coruscant.”
