like do you see that the lightest color is the base, then i add on the shadows gradually? i basically "cut out" the highlight and add lots of dimension of darker shading thru a low opacity marker brush that stacks opaqueness well. i feel like a crazy person

Im experimenting with a lot of new stuff like true black shadows and 1 layer painting which is painful lol
some of the perspective doesnt look right so I think I need a break to refresh my mind. still working on the expression
Shading in things manually like this helps create natural variation in the shadows making it much less "sterile" as opposed to just using the fill tool.
If you want a less digital look, using methods of coloring closer to traditional is the best thing to do.

Day 753: I only meant to work the sole of the foot, but I got absorbed in adding some details elsewhere. I think this one will be finished up on Friday/Saturday. It feels like the real challenge was colors and shadows, and now I'm enjoying myself a lot more with the rendering🙂
