But Slade's overall characterization just feels-- so damn off in this issue. Like really off. Maybe it's too much reading into Priest's run, but damn it's making me miss Priest's take more on this. Slade just feels less calculating in Annual and more cartoony.

Yeah... it's a bit cartoony... Mighty Ducks pulled it off full and it's an all-time classic. The S straddles a serious intent but it has a minor league baseball logo look to it. Maybe fans will fall in love with it... just too early to tell.
