I know it’s old hat by now, but that “Gen 9 art bad” discourse was such BS when you actually go and look at all of the new art and realize a lot of it is actually beautifully rendered/has a lot of personality/is just good.

One thing I’m glad for is that there isn’t as much venom for the character as there used to be. The discourse is still NOT GREAT, but it’s eased up slightly. This cover I drew (and colored) was a flashpoint of sorts for the fandom at a certain time.
