I think an important thing of interest with YGO Monsters is seeing how the background flashes and whatnot are carefully selected to fit their monster's theme. A very lightly defined forest that fades away from the foreground, bubbles and water surface patterns, etc, it's a style.

2. The way the characters are highlighted and shaded. That really makes the whole scene look very well lighted and you can properly separate foreground mid ground and background. The light from the door gives it more impact in bringing the scene together
